Senior Director, Emerging Technologies & Communications

Serving as a senior leader in the University’s central IT organization, I am responsible for technology innovation as well as leading an operational team of 30 application developers and web designers. I also am responsible for overseeing technology accessibility for people of all abilities on campus.
Major accomplishments include:
- I created and lead the university’s cloud strategy, negotiating contracts with major vendors, selection of products, and managed implementations and service offerings for Box, Amazon Web Services, Google Apps for Education, Office 365, Azure, and others.
- I direct the University’s in-house web development agency, overseeing design, software development, mobile app development, and content management systems. Managing a portfolio of dozens of active projects, including Webby award winning redesign of University home page. Implementation of content management systems and successful template web service now hosting over 450 university sites.
- Oversee identification and development of opportunities to partner in innovative uses of new technologies at the University. We have built very successful partnerships with the emerging innovation community at the University. We created a successful app challenge program now in its fifth year.
- I’ve sponsored and led the creation of a consistent application integration practice, including implementation of a standard integration technology platform.
